Monday, March 30th, 2009

Thankyou to everyone who went and well played in particular to danny mason who came through a 140 strong field in £25 freezeout to take 12th place.
Also rob cocking who finished 16th just outside the bubble.
On to the cash tables lads go and with the exception of chris pratt who run a nice few bob it was a disaster.
Spare a thought for J Phillips who run nicely only to lose a massive pot to quad 2s with his kings.
Bruce and i both played well in £75 freeezeout only to lose in 16th and 14th respectivley, in particular bruce suffered a brutal beat losing with ak to 36 soooooooooooted

MATTHEW(SHAKEY)SCOTT absolutley murdered our freeroll for DUSK TILL DAWN TRIP on friday 27th march.
Matthew has been out of form since winning our 2nd week there but these last few weeks at bradley he has been back to form with a bang and it all came right with a bang as he dominated from start to finish beating Jack Stinson and Matthew Payne into 2nd and 3rd respectively.
We have a great poker fraternity going and shakey was a very popular winner .
TAKE NOTTINGHAM BY STORM SHAKEY!

CONGRATULATIONS TOM

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Congratulations to Tom for winning the Cue World poker league. It has been a very good 16 weeks and thanks to all who participated in making it an enjoyable event.Congratulations also go to both Danny and Liam for securing your free trip to dusk till dawn. From when things started 16 weeks ago, it is fair to say that we have witnessed some awesome poker, but none more than the call we got from Danny to Ryans all in with the rockets. After much deliberation, and the clock being put on him, after what seemed like an eternity and with 10 seconds left Danny called with his two pairs, which help up.I think it is fair to say, that we have seen the quality of poker improve over the weeks, and i just want to finally say, that coming into the league a month after it started and winning a seat to dusk till dawn was exceptional play by Liam, whose poker continues to improve week on week. Well done everyone and keep checking the web site for future events, as it is anticipated that April is going to be a busy month.

Advertising Reports Updated

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

The detailed activity browser in the reports area of the Advertising section has been updated to include the URL of the document that displayed the ad.  This information is reported for both Clicks and Impressions.

The changes were made with the intention of assisting advertisers in spotting suspicious activity – it is now possibly to see if a visitor to the site has clicked the same ad on the same page more then once, for example.  A secondary advantage is that advertisers will be able to see where their clicks are originating.

Visitor privacy is maintained by stripping all values from the page URL, so although an advertiser can see that a visitor has visited (eg) the forums, they cannot tell exactly which threads that visitor has looked at.

Minor Update:
IP Hostnames have been added in order to help track scammers, spammers and bots.

DUSK TILL DAWN DEEPSTACK

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Frustrating to say the least with 340 runners and a 1st prize just under £40000 what great value when youve satellited in for £15 but i not when you never get going .
During the opening 2 levels i twice caught coolers in battles of the blinds my initial one i had 93c in bb ,i check flop falls q46 all clubs ,i bet he calls turn 4 he bets i call slowing down a bit worried about full house or bigger flush, river comes rag he bets i call ,he turns over 64 for full house GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Then half an hour later im in small blind 3 callers so i make up piece big blinds check my 25 clubs look great on 346 board two diamonds so i check ,bb check ,utg bet ,next fold ,guy on button raises (happy days im thinking )so i reraise only for big blind to push allin behind .
Everyone folds to me i use up as much time as possible to get read on him eventually i fold scandi shows 57 diamonds top straight with flush draw no wonder he looked ice cool.
Now im down to 6000 from 10000chips and already on life support,then at the end of last level im utg with qq so i limp next ny scandi foe raises followed by 2 callers now its back round to me and worried about scandi boy i call (a poor play by me i end up losing 2000 more chips when a reraise would have had me racing in hindsight with scandiboys ak at worst }
Just goes to show that each hand is different and should be played on its merits but i let the coolers affect me.
Queens was eventually my only pocket pair in seven 45 minute levels before my exit came so all in all if it could go wrong it did.
Decided to let the clock go past 12 before jumping on the cash tables and as usual the 1/2 was full of numpties with money to burn 3rd hand in ive got kk on button 2 callers and a raise before a £12 raise so i repop to £30 to be meet by a guy going allin for £160 .Occasionally i can give credit for aces but very rarely so my chips are in quicker than linford christie.
Nice they hold up ,numpty rebuys even better.
Then 2 orbits later im on button again with 22 i call £10 raise flop comes q92 happy days again when mug punter pushes my raise all in for £100.
Play on till 530am when club shuts and one hand i played just goes to show standard of players im utg with black aces so i limp ,much to my dismay no raise flop comes a65 all hearts so i bet 2 callers turn 9clubs ,again i bet 2 callers river comes 10 hearts so now i think im beat with 2 callers with flush a straight out there but i dont want them to see ive limped with aces so i decide to bet £25 hoping to get reraised so i can muck my aces thus hiding my play.
Oh no i get 2 callers now ive got to show down my crafty play just as well neither had a heart or a straight and i scoop another 100quid(lol).
Wish i could have had these cards in tourney but never mind 400quid profit thanks very much.
Spare a thought for Chris Pratt who came and tried a cash game unfortunatley the numpty caught him by pushing allin with tens preflop to chris s aces and what a joke idiot catches a ten .

New Website is Live

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

The new full version of the Poker147 website is live, with a lot more features added and a lot more still to come.   Take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the menu system on the left – you should find it’s all pretty straightforward.

Some highlights of the new site:

  • League Standings now have their own pages under Venues.
  • Registered members can discuss poker in the forums.
  • PAYG Advertising has been added to the site.

As before, you can pay entry fees for upcoming events online via PayPal as long as you get in before midday, two days before the day of the event – for example, if an event is on the 10th of the month, you can pay up until midday on the 8th.

Feel free to point out any typos, bugs and so on in the ‘Comments & Suggestions’ channel in the forums.  We might even read them.

Bradley Inn League
